In 1943, my grandmother graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa.

She went on serve our nation proudly in the Women's Army Corp. during World War II and returned home to practice private duty nursing.

Unbeknownst to her, she created a legacy of nursing in our family that, to date, has extended for three generations.
My mother studied nursing at Mennonite College of Nursing in Bloomington, Illinois.

After graduating in 1983, she took a job in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she found her calling.

Education has always been something of great importance to her, so after 20 years in the field, she returned to earn her BSN from Loyola University in New Orleans in 2005.

Inspired by my mother's return to school and her passion for a career that seems to be in my blood, I choose to train at Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I graduated in 2009.

I am currently seeking employment as a Registered Nurse and have plans to return to school to obtain an advance practice nursing degree.
